Brandi Kohr, DSW, LCSW-C is a licensed clinical social worker and co-founder of Verity Counseling in Edgewater, Maryland. With over 20 years of experience, she specializes in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate trauma, anxiety, addiction, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Her integrative, insight-oriented approach combines evidence-based therapies—including CBT, DBT, ACT, and trauma-informed care. Brandi has extensive experience working with military and veteran populations, families and couples, those living with mood disorders, and individuals navigating LGBTQ+–related concerns. She believes lasting change begins with honesty, compassion, and the courage to uncover one’s own truth.

Shana Grimes, LCSW-C - As co-founder of Verity Counseling, Shana provides therapy for adults navigating trauma, addiction, and complex life transitions. Her work is grounded in an integrative, trauma-informed approach that helps clients understand the patterns that shape their lives and develop practical tools for change. With extensive experience in behavioral health and reentry settings, she is especially attuned to the needs of individuals rebuilding stability after incarceration, hospitalization, or periods of crisis. Shana believes that healing begins with honesty and understanding — and that meaningful change grows from compassion, insight, and self-awareness.
